Textile as defined by Bacon is "which is, or may be, woven; a fabric made by weaving."
It is originated from a latin word, texere, means "to weave". but as of now textile term is much broader. it not only consists of fabric but also fibres, yarns, filaments, and any of the end product made out of it. It also encompasses the processes which are carried out on above said end products.
There are two distinct parts of textile. One consist of processes which are carried out from fiber to fabric called as textile manufacturing and the other is textile wet processing.
Textile wet processing consists of processes such as singeing, resizing, scouring, bleaching, mercerizing, dyeing, printing and finishing.
This are the processes in which with the help of the chemicals textile substrate is prepared for the next wet process to obtain a fully finished good at the end of the process.
